Clean and simple

Stayed for just 1 night. Location is good as it is about 1.5 miles to the wharf and 5 mins walk to Del Monte Shopping Centre. Staff was polite, helpful and efficient. Breakfast was decent and sufficient in my opinion. Walls were a bit thin as we could hear the neighbours showering or talking

Comfy stay

We stayed overnight at Comfort Inn Monterey in late October 2018, quick and easy check inn, front desk staff polite and helpful, location is nice, we felt safe. Clean quiet rooms, comfy bed, breakfast included , parking onsite. Our only complaint was mould in the shower, but happy enough with our stay and if in the area again we would stay here

Nice, clean motel

A friend and I decided to visit Monterey on the spur of a moment whim and found this reasonably priced motel. The staff was helpful and efficient. The location was good - easy to find and easy to drive to Monterey attractions. The breakfast selections were good - make-it-yourself mini waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, assorted dry and instant hot cereals, boiled eggs, yoghurt, assorted pastries, coffee/tea, etc. Our room (166) was beside a stairway and a small patio area. It was noisy, at times, but quieted down after people returned to their rooms. If you are sensitive to room noises, you might consider earplugs. We could hear when our neighbors turned on the water to shower. They had a heated outdoor swimming pool, no spa. I consider returning

Better than most Comfort Inns!

We used points and stayed in room 161, a nice quiet, clean, and comfortable room. You will not be able to walk to the historic locations from this property but you can easily drive it. I see mixed reviews and I think I figured out why... some rooms have been renovated and some have not. Ours had so we have no complaints. Keep in mind Comfort Inn is a budget hotel name and some are better than others. Comfort Inn Suites is more reliable for quality. We had two queen beds. Bathroom was good size. Beds and linens were good, pillows were lumpy. Refrigerator had a freezer. Safe in the room. Luggage rack in closet. Furniture not the best quality. Good lighting. Flowers throughout the complex and a good sized outdoor seating area. I wish all hotels used the coffee machines you have there. Each person makes there own coffee so it is always available and we don't have to rely on someone making a pot. Coffee was good also. USA Today in the lobby and be sure to get a coupon brochure if you are eating at the wharf. Good light in the parking lot at night. Ladies at front desk were very helpful. We would return
